2022 World Cup: Switzerland friendly last chance to try new things – Otto Addo
Otto Addo, the coach of the Black Stars, thinks that Thursday's friendly encounter against Switzerland is the final chance to attempt something new before the start of the 2022 World Cup.
The matchup with the European country will take place seven days before Ghana's opening World Cup Group H matchup against Portugal.
Otto Addo acknowledges that there is still much to be done before his team is ready for the international competition. He said Switzerland offers the ideal opportunity to test his team.
The chance of playing a very strong team exists. It's the final test before the World Cup and a good challenge," Addo added.
"Trying new things is a good idea, as is determining which positions certain players can play in as well as from a tactical standpoint. We can learn more about tactical matters as well.
"While there is still much to be done, Switzerland has undoubtedly been studied. Therefore, we must adopt their style. We must fill in various gaps depending on their system and their various positions.
"Defensively, it's a little bit of a different strategy, so this sometimes demands different players, but we are prepared and it's actually a very excellent preparation for Portugal," said the team.
The game against Switzerland will kick off on Thursday at 10:00 GMT at the Baniyas Club Stadium.
